This week, we are featuring Braylin’s Boutique in our Vendor Spotlight. If you have a dream, you can bring it to life and Tanae Coleman is proof of that. Living her dream with a wild heart and gypsy soul!
“Braylin’s Boutique, three generations of gypsies….I’m Tanae Coleman founder of Braylin’s Boutique. Yes it’s a funny name, but it’s unique, just like our little boutique! My mom gave me the name, just like she gave for the love for fabric and all of my creativity. Braylin is my oldest daughter, she says it is “her” store! Our story goes way back to my hometown in Blackwell, Oklahoma, where my mom Kim, had her first craft boutique. I had always dreamed of having my own little store but it seemed nearly impossible with being married and having three kids to run around. So I started making and creating small things in our guest bedroom. We did some sewing, made some hand-made items, embellishing, ordered clothing and created other repurposed things. I began sharing with family and friends which soon encouraged us to start doing vintage shows…and that’s how the Gypsy life began! We got tired of unpacking, setting up and taking down…over and over. One day, walking with my mom and sharing my dream of having a small vintage trailer to have as a traveling boutique we spotted one and bought it instantly. We have now flipped two vintage trailers and created them in our own creative way! Our little boutique is a family affair! We started mainly doing shows in the Tulsa area where we were currently living, then expanded to the nearby states. We had a blast traveling, shopping and exploring our creative side for over three years. My husband was offered a new job in Fayetteville, AR in November of 2014 so we packed up from our Okie life and moved! Around the same time we were expecting our third blessing to join us. It was one of the hardest decisions, but we decided to take time off from our traveling life. Babies are small for only a short amount of time. At one of the shows we love so dearly, Vintage Market Days, we had the pleasure of meeting Debbie, who runs Midtown. During my move and house decorating, I went to Midtown Eclectic Mall many times to do my shopping. Each visit I knew…when I was ready, I would want to have a booth there! I have now had a booth for 5 months and have truly enjoyed it. It has allowed me to order trendy clothes, repurpose items, go junking, embrace my creative side and most of all still be a MOM! Midtown Mall makes our gypsies hearts happy until we hit the road again!!”
From painted globes to galvanized buckets to darling handmade headbands…
Braylin’s Boutique has “parked the trailer” at Midtown Mall and we love having her here. Bring your friends, come shop…we’ll see you soon!
Hope your weekend is vintagy & fabulous. ♥
