The first day of summer is just a week away...if you haven't planted those annuals yet, here's some inspiration to get you out in your yard and in the dirt.
Debbie and I had such a fun time finding rusty, vintage pieces to plant flowers in. Why use a traditional planter when you can repurpose something and make a statement!
We propped up this old farm equipment piece on this rusty wheelbarrow. The perfect spot for flowers to flow out of....and how CUTE is that vintage tricycle!?
Why not plant flowers in a wheelbarrow? Sure to draw a bit of attention to your front yard.
This wheelbarrow had a bad wheel, but that didn't matter...it's not going anywhere!
How about old sinks? We used those, too!
This kitchen sink made the perfect place for an herb garden.
Looking for something other than a traditional trellis? We used a piece from an old bed for this climbing plant. We can't wait for it to make it's way up to the top.
And don't limit yourself to the traditional containers you can find at all the home improvement stores. If it can hold dirt, it can be a planter. We were sure to drill holes in the bottom to allow for drainage.
Don't want to or can't drill a hole? Just place the plant in a plastic container and then set in the repurposed planter. Simply remove when you water.
Looking for some rusty, vintage finds of your own to repurpose into garden containers? Head on down to Midtown Mall...we've got lots to choose from!
