Vendor Spotlight: The Rusty Buck

March 11, 2016

Midtown is proud to feature one of our newest vendors, The Rusty Buck, in our Vendor Spotlight this week.

Hi, we are Linda, Lauren, Andrea and Laci, known by most as the Huffmaster Family! The Rusty Buck booth at Midtown is the culmination of a lifelong hobby and business endeavor the 4 of us have talked about for years. We are a local family originating from Tontitown, who have loved and lived in NWA all our lives. Linda Huffmaster, known as Nana by her 8 grandkids, still lives, works and plays on the family-owned “Huffmaster Farms” in Tontitown with husband, Terry. The family values, work ethic and close knit relationships can all be attributed to the life we have been fortunate enough to live out on the farm. We love God above all, anything pertaining to nature and of course, a great farmhouse find!

Lauren Huffmaster Mayhew and her husband Dustin live in Springdale just outside the city limits. Lauren is a very busy homemaker with 4 small children who has a great eye for picking up children’s treasures, old quilts, unique kitchen items, etc.

Andrea and Heath Huffmaster live with their 2 boys in a remodeled farmhouse adjacent to the family farm. Andrea is a full-time teacher and her love of life is always spurring on the next big idea! Getting the booth underway was in large part due to Andrea. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and likes to mix her new country life with her city roots to create a modern farmhouse style. Andrea is a lover of old barn wood, pieces with interesting concepts or designs and anything that can be used for dual purposes within the home.

Laci Cherry is the youngest of the bunch and lives 2 miles from the farm with her husband David and their 2 children. Laci loves the hunt for unique and retired furniture pieces that can be repurposed and given new life! With a love for paint and textures, and a mind for making something out of nothing, you never know what project she will tackle next.

The name, the Rusty Buck, was painstakingly chosen at a family gathering one evening out at Heath and Andrea’s. The 4 of us girls cornered our spouses and threw out at least 25 names, declaring that no one could leave until a name was finalized! We wanted the guys to have a vested interest in our business, so we knew we better incorporate something of the 4-legged variety. We all love old, rusty items, as well as the hunt for a hidden treasure with great value, eventually leading us to “The Rusty Buck”.

We are so excited about our new endeavor with Midtown. We love the diversity of our items and hope that we will have the unique treasure you are looking for. Thank you for visiting with us, God bless you!
